Elinor project is a beautifully renovated family residence by interior designer Victoria-Maria located in the peaceful outskirts of Brussels. Originally the client’s childhood home, this 600m2 property was transformed into a sophisticated and timeless space that strikes a perfect balance between modernity and warmth. The design seamlessly blends mid-century architectural elements with contemporary artistic flair. A sleek annex houses the kitchen and dining areas, while expansive windows flood the interior with natural light, opening to the lush garden, which includes a cave for the children to explore.
This private residence is designed for a family of four – parents and two young children. The house was once the client’s childhood home, which underwent a complete transformation. The original structure was fully renovated, and a sleek, contemporary annex was added, housing the kitchen and dining areas. A beautiful garden surrounds the home, complete with a little cave for the children to explore.
The interior showcases a refined modernist aesthetic, rich with textures and a perfect blend of mid-century architectural elements and contemporary artistic flair. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a balanced and sophisticated living space.
The living area is anchored by sumptuous berry-toned velvet sofas, whose soft texture adds both warmth and elegance to the room. The Peter Halley artwork in vibrant reds and oranges complements the rich tones of the furniture, establishing a harmonious visual rhythm throughout the space. An antique rug with an intricate pattern in burgundy, ochre, and natural wood hues ties the room together, effortlessly blending with the modern design elements while adding a sense of history.
Beyond the living room, the dining area features a striking cobalt blue moiré wall and ceiling, injecting depth and vibrancy into the space. This bold design choice highlights the sculptural chandelier hanging above and the carefully selected wooden sculptures, which add a tactile element of craftsmanship. The wood and leather dining chairs offer a nod to artisanal quality, balancing the modern geometric lines with a softer, more organic touch. Natural light floods the space through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, seamlessly connecting the interior with the lush garden outside. The result is an environment that feels both thoughtfully curated and comfortably lived-in, where colors, textures, and materials come together to create a home that is not only visually striking but also timelessly elegant.
