Having spearheaded a series of innovative food pop-ups around the world, We are Ona, led by Luca Pronzato, returned once again during Art Basel. Within a former garage in the 7th arrondissement, he and interior designer India Mahdavi have designed a bucolic cocoon where the Rose of Isfahan is adorned from the walls to the tablecloths, chairs, napkins, and sofas. Named Rose, c’est la vie! For lunch and dinner, the 6- or 8-course menu was designed by Mexican chef Jesus Dúron.
Hidden behind an unmarked door in Paris’ 7th arrondissement, the week-long pop-up dining experience was set inside a former car repair shop, turned into a radical speakeasy of texture, warmth, and color, where every surface is swathed in a floral pink textile inspired by the Rose d’Ispahan. The project reimagined hospitality as an act of emotion, what Mahdavi calls ‘the seriousness of happiness.’
We Are Ona redefines the gastronomic experience with a spectacular, ephemeral offering in which cuisine interacts with contemporary art to bring unique moments to life. To achieve this, the studio brings together leading talents in gastronomy, art, and design in immersive pop-ups that have already become internationally renowned. This experience in Paris is pure magic. The location is kept secret until the last moment, preserving the sensation of stepping into a world apart. Upon arrival, a warm welcome envelops the visitor in an unexpected narrative: a unique space, suspended in time, where bold and emotional settings emerge like a dream in which to immerse oneself for a few hours. The experience celebrates the art of coming together: diners share a table in a visual and sensorial immersion accompanied by exquisite tasting menus (six courses for lunch and eight for dinner).
