Angela Hill has an eye that looks for emotion — in archives, in photography, in books, in her relationships. There is nothing nostalgic about her practice, but a distinctive sense of capturing a moment and protecting the emotion of that instant. With a career that began in the 1980s — and diverted into running acclaimed bookshop IDEA — Hill has perfected her extremely personal approach to photography: one that depends highly on a close and intimate relationship.
“I choose people who aren’t easy, but difficult, complicated, introverted, shy people. I talk to them to understand their hopes, desires, dreams, and how they are within their family.” This approach in 35mm brings out something extremely intimate, real, and emotional — a doorway into the lives of the subjects she portrays. It comes as no surprise that the Miu Miu Holiday 2025 Campaign, shot by Hill on film and filmed on Super 8, unfolds like a memory; a walk through the nooks, crannies and crevices of memories revisited.
The Miu Miu Holiday Campaign 2025 gathers Gigi Hadid, Dede Mansro, Viola and Ju Xiaowen at an Elizabethan manor house deep in the British countryside. Captured by Angela Hill on Super 8 and photographed on film, the video embraces a tactile, cinematic texture—framing youthful elegance within centuries-old walls.
In this setting, contrasts define the atmosphere: ancient stone fireplaces meet crumpled duchesse satin, sequins and glitter knits shimmer against weathered brickwork, and lively gestures unfold beside still, storied architecture. The festive collection includes lingerie-inspired georgette, and liquid satin looks, styled with signature Miu Miu footwear and bags. The result is a portrait of holiday dressing both timeless and unpredictable – a celebration of memory, spontaneity, and beauty in transformation.
