On the luminous planet of Zoumboulakis Galleries lies a small paradise, where art meets design and every object seems to tell its own story. Amid colors, textures, and creative signatures, one can discover dozens of unique works that, at this time of year, are transformed into festive gifts—charged with light, imagination, and the promise of the joy that only Christmas can bring.
Daphne Zoumboulakis, the soul of this paradise, looks back briefly at 2025 as it draws to a close, highlighting the year’s most significant artistic moments.
- “I would single out the very important exhibitions hosted in Athens in 2025, such as Marlene Dumas at the Museum of Cycladic Art, Juergen Teller at Onassis Ready, the group exhibition In a Bright Green Field at the Benaki Museum—with the participation of Sofia Rozaki—and, finally, the exhibition of Lucas Samaras at Intermission gallery.
From the exhibitions at Zoumboulakis Galleries, I would highlight Yannis Psychopedis’s installation Palermo and Stefanos Rokos’s exhibition 50,000,000 Tons of Landscapes, where he also presented the homonymous animation, with music composed by Jim Sclavunos and Nick Cave.”
- For the new year, the 2026 solo exhibitions will open with Plateau, the new solo show by Miltos Golemas, and, with great emotion, we also announce an exhibition of works by Nikos Alexiou, curated by Christoforos Marinos.
- When it comes to gifts for her loved ones, her choices are clear:
“I adore Astier de Villatte and make a point of gifting them to my friends as well. For more pop moments, I choose the candles by Basquiat, Wesselmann, or Warhol, or the skateboards from the Art Shop on Kriezotou Street.” - If she were to make just one wish for 2026, it would be:
“To always laugh with my beloved friends.”
Finally, she whispers ideas for last-minute gifts—small treasures chosen with care. Gifts for those we truly love, for those we know will appreciate them not only for their quality, but for the feeling they carry: like a warm embrace beneath the Christmas lights.
