The provisional programme of guest appearances and film screenings for Cine Kalisperitis, presented as part of the Kimolos Experience Festival 2026, has been announced.
The award-winning travelling open-air cinema, now internationally recognised, continues to attract acclaimed filmmakers and artists who have left their mark on the festival. Distinguished guests will attend screenings of their films and engage in conversations with audiences, creating unforgettable evenings beneath the star-filled skies of Kimolos.
Where nature becomes the stage for the seventh art, the people of Kimolos transform the island’s most secluded beaches into enchanting open-air cinemas. Each screening is brought to life with a bespoke scenography curated by Fotis Marinakis, featuring 500 solar lanterns suspended from tamarisk trees, 100 torches marking the entrances to the beach “cinemas,” and 200 candles illuminating the landscape between the audience and the rocks.

About Kimolistes
The volunteer cultural organization Kimolistes celebrates 15 years of service to the island of Kimolos through a wide range of cultural and community initiatives. For the past 13 years, Cine Kalisperitis has offered residents, visitors, and filmmakers unforgettable open-air screenings on the island’s secluded beaches and within the Medieval Castle of Chorio, each accompanied by a unique scenographic concept.
Since 2021, Cine Kalisperitis has expanded beyond Kimolos, bringing its travelling open-air cinema to other Aegean islands—including Milos, Sikinos, Serifos, Psara, Gavdos, and Tilos—while remaining true to its volunteer spirit and commitment to culture.
The international recognition of Cine Kalisperitis has been driven largely by its audiences. In 2025, screenings welcomed between 550 and 600 cinephiles each evening, followed by visits from leading Greek and international journalists whose coverage appeared in prestigious publications around the world.
The Kimolos Experience Festival returns for its sixth consecutive edition, running over four months—from early June to late September 2026—with a rich programme of cultural events.
Throughout the years, Kimolistes has worked to showcase the unique landscape and heritage of Kimolos through cinema, European cultural initiatives, book presentations and its Library Boats programme promoting reading, environmental awareness documentaries, live music performances, and traditional island festivals.
