ZaraUno is a renovation project that elegantly and contemporarily reinterprets an apartment overlooking the seafront of Corso Italia in Genoa, within the prestigious Palazzo del Tritone. Located on a high, light-filled floor, the home opens out onto the Ligurian Gulf, where sky and sea merge at the horizon.
Designed for a Genoese family deeply connected to the sea and to travel, the house is a bright, welcoming refuge—one that balances openness with a strong sense of belonging. The living area unfolds as a fluid sequence of interconnected spaces: a soft blue boiserie runs through the interiors like a continuous ribbon, evoking the sea and visually unifying the home.
Kitchen, dining room, and living room engage in a natural dialogue. At the center lies a deep navy-blue island, the symbolic and functional heart of the home. Two large opposing glass doors amplify light and perspective, while the original parquet floors preserve the apartment’s historic character, held in harmony with contemporary details.
In the dining room, a frescoed ceiling hovers above a large sculptural table. In the living room, a bold three-dimensional red volume acts both as a TV wall and a spatial portal. Perimeter lighting highlights the decorated ceilings, creating a soft, enveloping atmosphere.
The night area includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the master bedroom, a midnight-blue niche houses a double-height walk-in closet, accessed via a coral-colored tubular ladder. Complementary colors evoke a marine universe, articulating solids and voids with rhythm and depth.
In the master bathroom, three-dimensional pink tiles and a light-blue shelf dotted with stones create a sensory dialogue between material and color. The child’s bedroom, rendered in delicate tones, features a white mezzanine inspired by boat interiors—a space that oscillates between play and refuge.
ZaraUno tells a story of travel between past and present, intimacy and openness, where every detail reflects the life, history, and style of those who inhabit it.
