Ramun, the innovative lighting brand founded by Italian design legend Alessandro Mendini, is launching the new Bella Crystal Cut in collaboration with world-renowned designer Marcel Wanders. This lamp is a modern successor to the iconic Bella Plissé from 2019 and combines design, technology, and emotion in an unprecedented way.
The Bella Crystal Cut retains the original’s signature bell-shaped silhouette and enchanting light stream, but now comes in a more compact size. Thanks to its wireless, USB-rechargeable design, the lamp can be used anywhere: from the bedroom and dining room to the children’s room or even camping. The soft, refined light brings warmth and elegance to any space. Marcel Wanders’ iconic cut crystal design transforms tables into sparkling canvases, creating magical light patterns that transform everyday spaces into a gallery of light and imagination.
But the Bella Crystal Cut is more than just a lamp. It plays various classical melodies by composers such as Mozart, Chopin, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Rachmaninoff, supplemented by a special opening melody by Johannes Bernardus van Bree, as a tribute to Wanders’ Dutch roots. Even a Swiss version of “Happy Birthday” is included, making the lamp a meaningful gift. The collection is available in eight beautiful colors, including Clear Gold, Clear Silver, Aurora Green, and Aurora Purple, along with a limited edition reissue of four beloved previous shades: Yellow, Cyan, Pink, and Blue. This allows enthusiasts to fully personalize their lamp. Health and comfort are central to the design. Developed with ophthalmologists, the Bella Crystal Cut provides ideal light for your eyes, free from UV, infrared, and harmful blue light. The lamp is flicker-free, heat-resistant, and made of environmentally friendly, non-toxic materials. Thanks to a 20-step brightness control, a simple touch sensor and new features such as lock and personalized melodies, the user experience is fully tailored to the individual.
The original Bella was awarded “Best Lighting of the Year” at the 2022 Modern Furniture + Lighting Awards, organized by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Global Design News. Out of more than sixty designs from 24 countries, Bella was hailed as a symbol of contemporary design, both emotionally and technically. Today, the Bella remains a global bestseller and a favorite among international celebrities, who regularly showcase it on social media.
