The House of Fendi presents the collectible exhibition “Fonderia Fendi” at Design Miami 2025, running from December 2 to 7. Designed by Argentine artist and designer Conie Vallese, the collection celebrates the Maison’s 100th anniversary and reinforces Fendi’s long-standing commitment to Design Miami as a leader in the fusion of design, luxury, and collectible art.
The exhibition, echoing the spirit of “Les Cinq Doigts d’une Main”—a 1994 illustration by Karl Lagerfeld representing the five Fendi sisters—was conceived as a collaborative endeavor. Vallese worked closely with five renowned Italian ateliers to create unique pieces crafted from monumental materials such as bronze, ceramics, glass, carpet, and leather.
With a color palette inspired by Rome and Fendi’s signature “sorbet” tones—soft yellow and anise blue—the collection blurs the boundaries between industrial craftsmanship and the expressive work of the human hand.
Fendi’s artistic expression at Design Miami 2025, titled ‘Fonderia Fendi,’ was conceived as an intimate salotto (living room), a ‘pale cocoon bathed in soft light.’ The exhibition at Design Miami sought to celebrate Fendi’s centennial through the concept of feminine strength intertwined with Italian craftsmanship, evoking the five Fendi sisters (Les Cinq Doigts d’une Main).
In terms of design, the collection featured organic, hand-molded creations by Conie Vallese, immortalized in natural and monumental materials such as bronze, ceramic, glass, carpet, and the iconic Roman leather (cuoio Romano). The aesthetic was defined by a color palette inspired by Rome, including pinkish bronzes and Fendi pastel shades like ‘sorbetto’ yellow and pale ‘anice’ blue, where the pieces celebrated imperfection with painterly textures and reliefs. Finally, the key pieces included an elegant bench, an accent chair, a screen and a light fixture, all embossed with the brand’s iconic ‘Selleria’ stitching.
