Following the successful journey of the much-loved Fondazione at the historic Spyridon Loverdos Foundation Library building in Kifissia, the time for change has arrived.

Fondazione Aficionados completes its chapter, passing the baton to a new evolution: a dedicated events venue. Meanwhile, the restless creator’s activities and headquarters move exclusively to the heart of Athens.

A singular space in the centre of the capital, where Dionysios Loverdos, the Kefalonian collector of Byzantine icons and devoted admirer of the Byzantine era, once maintained his private office.

Set at an iconic Athens address that has long attained the status of an urban legend, the site has fuelled the imagination of passers-by for decades, inspiring endless speculation about what might lie behind the imposing, tightly sealed neo-Gothic iron door at 58A Akadimias Street.

Now, the ever-active concept maker Georgios Thisseas Karambelas finally offers an answer, satisfying the city’s insatiable curiosity with the grand opening of this remarkable space.

With a profound respect for historical identity and architectural distinction—a defining hallmark of all his projects—and adding yet another Manifesto to the distinctive portfolio of his multifaceted creative brand, Georgios T. leaves his personal imprint as Creative Director and Curator. From radio and television programmes to guesthouses in Pelion and Kythera, wine and olive oil, and residential developments in the city, his ventures reflect an ever-evolving creative vision. Here, he artfully brings together Byzantine heritage, contemporary design and an urban sensibility, officially opening the doors to a public that has long awaited its unveiling.

Within an atmosphere of almost ritualistic intensity, oversized domes, arched passageways, vaulted ceilings, mosaics and intricate geometric patterns set the scene. True to his unconventional, outside-the-box approach, Georgios Thisseas creates contemporary lifestyle settings that weave the space’s existing spirit into a fresh, trend-conscious narrative.
