Requiem for the End of Love A co-production between the Greek National Opera and Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris).
Giorgos Koumendakis and Dimitris Papaioannou’s masterful performance-installation, created in 1995—to honour ‘those friends who lost their lives to AIDS’—, has returned to the Greek National Opera in a new version for a run of 12 performances, conducted by Teodor Currentzis. After the performances in Athens, the Requiem will travel to Paris to be showcased at the historic Théâtre du Châtelet. This co-production between the Greek National Opera and the Théâtre du Châtelet, along with the tour to Paris, is made possible by a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) [www.SNF.org] to enhance the Greek National Opera’s artistic outreach.
