The Alekos Fassianos Museum has announced the exhibition of its Contemporary Intervention Program, Malvina Panagiotidi: Bucolic Fever. In Dialogue with Alekos Fassianos.

The exhibition presents a newly commissioned body of site-specific works by artist Malvina Panagiotidi, developed in dialogue with a lesser-known yet highly fertile aspect of Alekos Fassianos’s practice: design.

Drawing on extensive research into Fassianos’s archive and oeuvre, Panagiotidi expands the boundaries of his visual language. She transforms the traces of her research into a fluid artistic landscape in which the boundaries between artwork and object, utility and desire, dissolve. Reality is deconstructed and poetically reassembled, allowing a world to emerge in which the everyday becomes a dreamlike trace. Hybrid design works merge human, natural, and imaginary elements, moving between the familiar and the uncanny.

The exhibition is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
The Contemporary Intervention Program is supported by Deloitte and Karavias Art Insurance.

About the Contemporary Intervention Program

The Contemporary Intervention Program is the museum’s visual arts initiative aimed at supporting contemporary Greek art through a creative dialogue between the work of Alekos Fassianos and contemporary artists. The program invites a contemporary artist to create a site-specific intervention within the Museum, engaging in dialogue with the building, paintings, ceramics, and design works of Alekos Fassianos.
