Between archives, libraries and immersive installations, fashion no longer supports design, but redefines its languages and spaces

The Miu Miu Literary Club returns for its third edition, focusing on Annie Ernaux and Ama Ata Aidoo. Inside the Circolo Filologico Milanese, a public library takes shape, designed as a place to stay and explore rather than just pass through. At the center is the theme “Politics of Desire”, guiding conversations, lectures and readings that reflect on the contemporary female condition.

Gucci Memoria, an exhibition curated by Demna, new creative director of Gucci, reinterprets the 105 years of the Maison in a symbolic way. Set in the spaces of the Chiostri di San Simpliciano, the exhibition creates an immersive path where past and present come together, showing the complexity and evolution of the brand’s creative language. Open to the public from April 21 to 26 (10:00–20:00), with registration on gucci.com.

Antonio Marras presents at Fuorisalone 2026 “PicNic a Le Vasche di Ciu’ Peppì”, an immersive installation inside NonostanteMarras that transforms the Sardinian coast into a multisensory story between fashion, design and memory. Furniture, surfaces and installations – with Nodo Italia, Jacuzzi, Kartell, De Castelli and Wall&decò – interact with a landscape made of materials, colors and natural suggestions. The experience includes a Temporary Bistrot by Famiglia Rana and ends on April 26 with a morning club between music and design.

Reference Library, curated by Apartamento Magazine with Jil Sander, celebrates the book as an object that holds memory, relationships and identity. It brings together sixty books from around the world, each chosen by someone with a notable point of view: writers, designers, artists, architects, filmmakers and thinkers. Together they form a collection of personal references. Presented together, they become something larger: a portrait of curiosity and influence, and of the invisible links between a reader, an idea and the world. The exhibition, with an installation designed by studioutte, takes place at the Jil Sander showroom. By registration, with 60 visitors per hour, guests enter the library and receive a pair of white gloves.

Created with Dropcity, the project explores the brand’s vision around the concept of Air. Visitors move through a series of tunnels that show the evolution of the project, from the original experiments by Frank Rudy to the iconic Air Max, up to new innovations and unseen prototypes. The experience includes talks, workshops and hands-on sessions. Air Lab is also designed to continue as a permanent makerspace at Dropcity after Design Week.

Issey Miyake presents “The Paper Log: Shell and Core”, a project by Satoshi Kondo with Miyake Design Studio and Ensamble Studio. At the center are paper logs used in production and later recycled, here explored as research material. The installation develops through two approaches: “Shell”, where paper is unrolled and hardened, and “Core”, where it is compressed and assembled into furniture prototypes. The works create a dialogue between opposites: light and solid, delicate and strong, fluid and structured, connecting fashion and architecture.

Via Bagutta 12

La DoubleJ presents “Size Matters”, an immersive project for the launch of the “Al Fresco” collection. The store becomes an exhibition space where objects appear in exaggerated sizes, from very small to very large, transforming everyday elements into almost surreal presences.
