Artist Cj Hendry and luxury Korean beauty brand Sulwhasoo announce Secret Garden, a new collaborative art experience inspired by the hidden garden at The House of Sulwhasoo Bukchon, their flagship destination in Seoul.
Presented as part of Sulwhasoo’s global Beauty Crafted in Time campaign, Secret Garden explores the relationship between art, beauty, heritage and craftsmanship. The collaboration brings together Hendry’s highly recognizable approach to drawing and sculpture with Sulwhasoo’s Korean heritage and celebration of 60 years of ginseng innovation.
At the heart of Secret Garden is a garden-like environment constructed from flat-pack wooden sculptures and puzzle-inspired forms. Displayed collectively, the individual structures transform into an expansive forest-like landscape, creating an environment for visitors to explore and engage with through drawing and color.
The New York exhibition will take place at The Brant Foundation Gallery, a 7,000-square-foot exhibition space housed within a restored century-old building in Manhattan’s East Village. Secret Garden will be open to the public September 18–20, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Visitors will receive a complimentary box of custom crayons and be invited to explore the garden, color the structures and create their own drawings within the experience. Upon exiting, guests will receive a co-branded shopping tote containing a 5ml sample of Sulwhasoo’s iconic Concentrated Ginseng Rejuvenating Cream. Additional limited-edition items created by Cj Hendry for this partnership will be available for purchase on-site at the exhibit.

Following its New York presentation, Secret Garden will travel to Seoul, where it will be presented September 30 through October 8
