In Naples, where hospitality is an integral part of domestic culture, Casa Celeste was conceived as a space designed to welcome. Within an apartment of eighty square meters, the project reorganizes the layout around an open and convivial living area, where the kitchen, lounge, and bookshelf interact naturally.
During the renovation, the original brick vaults—long concealed—were brought back to light. Their recovery became the starting point of the project, restoring depth and character to the existing architecture. Beneath these textured surfaces, the space unfolds as a continuous environment, where the kitchen opens onto the living room and a large wall of books evokes the atmosphere of private libraries.
Materials and colors are carefully balanced to create harmony between local roots and more distant influences. Hand-painted ceramics from Vietri reflect a strong connection to the territory, while Majorelle blue introduces a richer note, recalling travel and Mediterranean inspirations. Marble, wood, and glass are combined with restraint, helping define a warm and layered atmosphere.
The spatial layout is the result of precise choices aimed at maximizing every square meter. The shower is integrated into the bedroom, allowing the apartment’s single bathroom to take on the role of a small guest bathroom. Custom elements—such as the Verde Alpi marble sink and bespoke mirrors designed specifically for the project—enhance the refined and artisanal character of the interiors.
The artworks displayed in the apartment belong to the homeowner’s own artistic production. They are not intended as permanent features; over time, they make way for new pieces, turning the home into an ever-evolving collection where architecture remains the stable backdrop to both daily life and artistic exploration.
