Amorgos, the island that inspired the poet Nikos Gatsos, remains through time effortlessly beautiful, untouched, authentic, and genuine. A Cycladic island that preserves its Greek identity intact over the passage of time.
On July 6th, Amorgina, a model hotel development harmoniously integrated with the natural environment, opens in Agios Pavlos and invites all those who wish to discover Amorgos—or return to it.
The location is of unparalleled beauty: land scattered with lentisk shrubs, fennel, and wild herbs, a clear horizon, and enchanting sunsets facing the uninhabited islet of Nikouria. The bay of Nikouria, sheltered from the meltemi winds and the waves of the Aegean, generously offers its calm blue waters.
In this setting, Amorgina features 16 suites, all with views of the endless blue.
It offers the following accommodation types: Junior Suite, Family Suite, Courtyard Family Suite, Hot Tub Family Suite, and Courtyard Hot Tub Suite—ranging from 32 to 47 sq. m. All suites include private verandas, are composed of two rooms, accommodate up to four guests, and feature a minibar, espresso coffee station, and organic personal care products. Many also offer two bathrooms, as well as connecting room options.
The outdoor 25-meter infinity pool, seamlessly connected to the sea and offering breathtaking views of the sunset and Nikouria, is one of the hotel’s landmarks. In front of it begins the path leading to the beach and the crystal-clear waters of the bay.
Above the pool area, the restaurant—spanning both indoor and outdoor spaces—operates from morning until evening. Its cuisine, curated by chef Babis Kountouris, is based on authentic local products and the culinary heritage of Amorgos and the Cyclades. In the day-to-day kitchen operations, chef Christos Sismanis leads the team.
The project was designed by Theodoros Zoumboulakis with the aim of full integration into the landscape. Clean lines, Cycladic sensibility, and colors and materials that dialogue with the stone reflect the light of Amorgos.
The interior design was curated by Vana Krymnioti. Landscaping was undertaken by Evi Kimeri, and construction management was handled by Katerina Biri.
For Amorgina, sustainability is not a trend but a responsibility. This philosophy permeates every level of the project—from construction choices and architectural materials to furnishings, cuisine, and in-room amenities. At the same time, it aims to act as an active supporter of the local community of Amorgos, collaborating with local producers and promoting experiences that connect visitors with the island’s authentic character.
Agios Pavlos is located 25 minutes from the port of Katapola, 15 minutes from Chora, and 5 minutes from Aegiali.
