The collection takes its cue from Marie-Louise Sciò’s own sun-drenched summer lifestyle. Every Friday, the CEO & Creative Director of Pellicano Hotels Group, which she has transformed into an internationally recognised lifestyle brand, leaves her office in Rome behind and steps into worlds filled with beauty and glamour, where work and pleasure naturally meet.
“I wanted to create a collection that was completely removed from classic office dressing, while remaining practical and effortlessly glamorous,” says Marie-Louise Sciò. “Each piece has been designed to move seamlessly from morning to evening, particularly in summer, when I am constantly travelling between different places with just one suitcase.”
In this spirit, the collection is defined by versatility, elegance, a modular sensibility, an international character, sensuality and an unmistakably Italian identity. It perfectly captures the essence of Weekend Max Mara and its distinctive philosophy, effortlessly bridging workwear and weekend dressing.
Elegance here is instinctive, never contrived. It is shaped through balance and attention to detail, without excess. Silhouettes are fluid, comfortable and relaxed, while retaining an impeccable sense of line. A kimono jacket is paired with matching shorts, creating the ideal summer look—soft in silhouette yet striking in presence.
The Safari jacket becomes an entire design concept, reinterpreted as a jacket, a patch-pocket skirt, a blouse and a playsuit. Dresses are defined by generous, airy volumes that move lightly with every step. Trousers gently flare towards the hem, pairing effortlessly with blouses featuring structured collars or delicate ruched tops. A blouson jacket provides an elegant finishing touch for cooler hours.
The fabric selection encompasses crisp cotton, stretch cotton piqué, viscose neoprene, silk-and-cotton blends and washed linen blends. The colour palette moves through refined neutrals—ivory, navy blue, khaki, chocolate brown, beige and sage green—while accents of saffron yellow and rust orange add depth, warmth and energy. The iconic Pasticcino Bag, reimagined this season in pleated gold nappa, is joined by statement costume jewellery, ballerinas and mules in silver and gold tones, bringing a contemporary luminosity that catches the light with equal elegance from sun to moonlight.
