The Dorchester’s summer garden is reinterpreted by Italian fashion house La DoubleJ, bringing a maximalist spirit to Mayfair. Launched on May 20, to coincide with London’s Chelsea Flower Show, The Dorchester’s summer garden will come into full bloom, defined by bold prints, expressive design and sculptural artistry.

Founded by JJ Martin, former Los Angeles editor turned entrepreneur, La DoubleJ quickly became something of an insider obsession, known for its joyful use of colour, mood-lifting prints and commitment to Italian craftsmanship. At The Dorchester, this spirit unfolds as an extension of Vesper Bar into the garden, taking its cue from the bar’s bold interiors by Martin Brudnizki.

Rooted in its philosophy of ‘Raise your Vibration’, layered textiles, expressive table settings and abundant floral moments create a space that feels vibrant and playful. At its centre, tree-high kinetic sculptures by American sculptor Lyman Whitaker introduce movement and rhythm, while a sweeping carpet in La DoubleJ’s signature Napoli Rosa print inspired by the warmth and romance of Southern Italy flows through the garden and across the tableware. Patterned linens, green glassware and sculptural vases sit alongside colourful cushions and parasols, creating a world of discovery.

Running through the installation, La DoubleJ’s Fantastic Creatures print introduces a poetic, imaginary dimension that emerges within the garden itself. An alchemy of blooms, birds and plants’ weaves through the space, echoing the surrounding greenery and moving in rhythm with the sculptures to create a dreamlike landscape where nature, pattern and motion merge into a refined yet magical atmosphere.
