On Tuesday, September 15, ena athletics presented Proto Gamma Marathon Blue at an exclusive pre-launch event, introducing the new colorway of its flagship performance running model at a pivotal moment for runners entering the final stretch of their preparation for the Athens Marathon.
Proto Gamma is ena athletics’ flagship performance running model. Designed for race day, it was developed for runners seeking to exceed their limits, and is the brand’s lightest and most responsive model to date.
Incorporating the most advanced technology developed by ena athletics to date, the model features an ultra-lightweight monofilament upper made from recycled materials, a proprietary eight-layer carbon-fibre plate for dynamic propulsion and controlled movement, as well as the new Silphion midsole, the brand’s lightest and most responsive foam to date. The color identity of Proto Gamma Marathon Blue references the distinctive blue line marking the route from Marathon to the Panathenaic Stadium, creating a direct symbolic connection with one of the most historic routes in global running.
The pre-launch event marked the first presentation of Proto Gamma Marathon Blue, bringing into focus not only the model itself, but also the history of the Marathon and the values behind the 42.2-kilometre journey.
Among the evening’s guests were Anna Vlachaki, archaeologist, who spoke about the history of the Marathon and its place within Greece’s athletic heritage, and Maria Polyzou, Greek marathon record holder and ena athletics ambassador, who shared her journey leading up to the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, speaking about resilience, and the continuous effort that accompanies an athlete’s journey towards their next goal.
The evening concluded with the presentation of Proto Gamma Marathon Blue by Jean-Philippe Lalonde, Brand Director of ena athletics, who presented the brand’s flagship performance running model and its connection to the Athens Marathon.
